Reading Notes:
- This one is a very easy choice and will be my story to retell for the Week. The photo may give some context on why this story immediately became my favorite, as I could sense me retelling it quickly after reading
- Read about African Chameleon's here: Source
- The animals lived free with no rule: however, wicked acts called for this
- Animals all met and decided they must choose a king
- Issue was how to choose him, but many didn't want lion or wolf to be the king
- Decided to have a race to an ancient stool by a tree that was their god's abode
- Day of the race all came and the race started
- Hare outran everyone by a long shot
- As the hare took a seat in the stool the sneaky chameleon leaped on first, disguised as the color of the hares tail
- Other animals arrived and saw that the chameleon had won (hare was furious to see he had been tricked
- All the animals didn't want the chameleon as their king, so they all scattered
- Chameleon was devastated and said to himself "A king without subjects is no king at all"
- Very easy to choose how to retell and can be described in two words: Regional Manager
